Instructors Biographies: Craig Caudill Sensei Overview

Craig Caudill Sensei started his martial arts training in 1991 as a member of the Eastern Kentucky University Judo team under Ben VanArsdale Sensei. He was introduced to the martial art of Aikido in 1993. Recognizing that he had a deep desire to train in the traditional and martially effective methods of Japanese Budo, he immersed himself in his training throughout the Eastern United States eventually becoming Chief Instructor of Ronin Bushido Aikido, a group of independent Central Kentucky dojos practicing Aikido. He was involved in demonstrations and training throughout several states in both private and agency-sponsored training events. It was in 2001 that his Aikido training under Meido Moore Sensei of the Chicago-based Shinjinkai began. B Bluegrass Budokai is now an associate dojo of Shinjinkai.

In September 2005 he started Bluegrass Budokai. This organization is dedicated to disciplined instruction and practice of Japanese Budo. It’s membership is dedicated to the continued growth of mind, body, and spirit that comes through disciplined practice.

Caudill Sensei has led thousands of students in the private, public and governmental sectors. His martial arts programs have been widely accepted throughout Kentucky.

May 1991 - Jan 1994, Member of Eastern KY University Judo Team. Fought competively and trained in Kodokan Judo while a member of the EKU Team. Still active in training and teaching Judo as member of Bluegrass Budokai

Jan 1996 - Present, Author and Chief Instructor of Be Safe© a program teaching basic self-defense principles in the public, private and organizational environment.

Apr 2000 - Aug 2005, Served as Chief Instructor and Executive Director of Ronin Bushido Karate Club.

Aug 2002 - May 2003, Adjunct professor of Aikido at Eastern Kentucky University

May 2002 - Present, Author and Chief Instructor of Building Character through Aikido© a program dedicated to applying Aikido principles "off the mat". This program has been widely accepted in both the public and private sector. There are separate but similar divisions for adults and youth to meet their particular needs. Participants utilize the unique principles of martial arts training to develop communication skills, team building and confidence

Jun 2003 - Present, Co-Founder and Instructor of Aiki Solutions. This company is dedicated to teaching Aikido principles to participants seeking non-violent solutions to verbal and physical confrontations. We have worked with law-enforcement, corrections and military personnel as well as nursing staffs and stop-loss prevention personnel.

Aug 2003 - Present, Member of North American Sanshinkai and practitioner of Muso Shinden Ryu Iaido.

Sept 2005 - Present, Serves as Founder and Chief Instructor of Bluegrass Budokai. This organization teaches the martial arts of Aikido, Judo, and Iaido as well as works with other professionals with the similar interest of helping those around us to exceed their expectations of themselves.
